Founded in 2005, CatholicVote exists to inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of the Catholic faith in public life — in politics, culture, and community.
CatholicVote is a non-profit, non-partisan, lay-led movement of more than a million Catholics who share a conviction: the Church belongs in the public square. We are journalists, organizers, attorneys, parents, parishioners, and pastors — building the institutions our faith and our country need.
For two decades we have produced original journalism, mobilized voters in every state, advocated for life, marriage, and religious liberty in legislatures and courts, and trained the next generation of Catholic leaders. We do not speak for the Catholic Church; we speak from within it, as faithful sons and daughters trying to be salt and light in the world.
On September 8 — the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary — Brian Burch and a small team of lay Catholics launch CatholicVote.org to engage Catholic voters around the 2006 midterms.
CatholicVote distributes more than two million printed voter guides across U.S. parishes, framing the choices facing Catholics on the issues that matter most.
Our flagship weekly podcast begins production, becoming one of the top-ranked Catholic public-affairs shows in the country.
CatholicVote launches The Loop, a free daily email reaching hundreds of thousands of readers each weekday morning.
Kelsey Reinhardt becomes CatholicVote's second president following Brian Burch's nomination as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See.
CatholicVote launches Zeale, a new media platform for Gen Z, and joins the Greater Than coalition to reframe marriage policy around the rights of children.
CatholicVote is led by Catholics formed in the Church, trained in their fields, and committed to a public square in which the faith is welcome and articulate.
